"I think the top European football clubs are faced with a very unique challenge in that the majority of their fan follower base is now in China, especially (for clubs) in the UK, FC Barcelona, here at Inter Milan, AC Milan, etc. But, unlike a normal business or brand, where if you look at the statistics and 70% of your consumers or fans or followers are based in China, the obvious choice would be to move the head offices into China to be closer to the consumers and the fan base. In football, we can't do that," stated Richard Lamb, the international business director of FC Internazionale Milano (Serie A TIM), on 08/07/2016, the second day of the World Football Forum 2016.

This convention took place on 07 and 08/07/2016 in Paris (FRA), around the theme of "The New Geography of Football", which analysed China's impact on world football and its economy, the emergence of India in football, and opportunities in emerging football markets: Russia (host of the 2018 World Cup), Qatar (host of the 2022 World Cup), Southeast Asia and Africa.
