"UEFA manages and markets the rights for the Champions League, probably the strongest brand in the world of sports, and certainly in football. Over the years, our events, the Champions League, the Euro, have become truly global. At least half of the Champions League TV audience is now located outside of Europe. Euro 2016 has 245 broadcasters in over 200 countries around the world. The majority of UEFA sponsors are now outside of Europe, whether they are American, or from China or Japan," said Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA, on 08/07/2016, during the second day of the World Football Forum 2016.

This convention took place on 07 and 08/07/2016 in Paris (FRA), around the theme of "The New Geography of Football", which analysed China's impact on world football and its economy, the emergence of India in football, and opportunities in emerging football markets: Russia (host of the 2018 World Cup), Qatar (host of the 2022 World Cup), Southeast Asia and Africa.
