Ligue 1: V. Labrune will leave the presidency of Marseille "before the resumption" of the season

Vincent Labrune, the president of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1), announced on 14/07/2016 that he will leave his post "before the resumption", meaning before 14/08/2016, the date of the first game of OM in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season.

Vincent Labrune has been president of Olympique de Marseille since June 2011, when he was appointed by Margarita Louis-Dreyfus. The owner of OM officially announced intentions for the sale of the club, owned by the Louis-Dreyfus family since 1996, on 13/04/2016.

Several French media outlets indicate that Vincent Labrune should formally leave office at the general meeting of the club on 21/07/2016. At the conclusion of this general meeting, OM should present a new organisation, with a possible change in legal structure, to ensure a transition ahead of the sale of the club.
