Olympique de Marseille: Margarita Louis-Dreyfus could wait before selling the club (L'Équipe)

More than three months after the official sale of the club, the owner of Olympique de Marseille, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, who initially wanted to sell quickly, could wait to receive offers both capable of ensuring the competitiveness of the club and also interesting financially, according to several French media outlets, on 19/07/2016.

Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, the majority shareholder of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) since the death of her husband, Robert Louis-Dreyfus, on 04/07/2009, officially announced the sale of the club on 13/04/2016. Robert Louis-Dreyfus, French businessman and naturalised Swiss, was the majority shareholder of Olympique de Marseille since 1996.

Three candidates to buy the club have been identified by the French sports newspaper L'Équipe, on 19/07/2016:
• Guggenheim Partners, a US investment fund and a subsidiary of the Guggenheim Baseball Management consortium, which is the franchise owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB).
