FC Barcelona: Qatar Airways continues as the main shirt sponsor for 2016-17

The airline Qatar Airways has extended its deal as the main shirt sponsor of FC Barcelona for one season (2016-17), on 19/07/2016. The extension was negotiated "under the same conditions as their current deal", according to the Spanish club, therefore the partnership is worth around €35m for the 2016-17 season, excluding sporting performance bonuses.

Qatar Airways became the main Barça shirt sponsor in 2013-14, and paid the club a fixed amount of €30.5m for that year, with the amount rising to €32m in 2014-15 and €33.5m in 2015-16, excluding sporting performance bonuses (including an estimated amount of €5m for a Champions League trophy).

El Mundo Deportivo announced that Qatar Airways would extend their deal as the main shirt sponsor of FC Barcelona for one season (2016-17), and then the US e-Commerce group Amazon would succeed them for five seasons (2017-2022), on 08/07/2016.
