Virgin Money, the banking subsidiary of the British media and telecommunications group Virgin, property of Richard Branson (pictured in the photo), became a financial partner (fifth level in the sponsorship pyramid) of Manchester United FC (Premier League) for four seasons (2016-2020), on 18/07/2016. The regional partnership gives Virgin Money the status of "official financial services partner" in the United Kingdom.

Virgin Money's customers will benefit from Manchester United labelled products and services, as well as "money can't buy" offers (commercial offers connected to a marketing campaign). Virgin Money, which is headquartered in Newcastle, was the main shirt sponsor of the club during the 2012-13 season, and has three million customers in the UK.

Manchester United have 14 financial partners, covering 21 countries worldwide, as of 20/07/2016.
