Reading FC sign partnership agreement with the Marussia Formula 1 team

English club Reading FC (19th in the Premier League in 2012/13, relegated to the Championship for 2013/14) have announced a partnership with the Anglo-Russian Formula 1 team, Marussia, on the 30/06/2013.

The partnership will see joint marketing initiatives to advertise both Reading and Marussia. The Reading FC badge has been displayed on Marussia's Formula 1 cars since the British Grand Prix on the 30/06/2013, and Marussia's logo will be displayed on reverse of Reading shirts for the 2013/14 season. The agreement also includes collaboration on fitness, nutrition and coaching programmes.

The Marussia F1 are owned by the Russian businessman Anton Kolesnikow. Reading FC are owned by fellow Russian, Anton Zingarevich.

  • Two other F1 teams have partnerships with English football clubs:
    • Sauber with Chelsea (3rd in the Premier League in 2012/13)
    • Caterham, owned by Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes, with Queens Park Rangers (20th in the Premier League in 2012/13, relegated to the Championship in 2013/14), where he is also a shareholder.
