The FMCG (Fast-moving Consumer Goods) sector was the biggest advertiser during the final of Euro 2016, Portugal - France (1-0 a.e.t.) on ITV in the United Kingdom, on 10/07/2016, announced the American marketing agency TVTY, on 16/07/2016.

Of the 93 ads on the British ITV channel, lasting 38 minutes and 40 seconds, the FMCG sector accounted for 23% of broadcast advertising time (almost 8 minutes 53 seconds). Mobile telephony (16%) and the automotive (13%) sectors completed the podium. The Euro 2016 final drew an average of 1.9 million viewers on the private, free-TV channel ITV, for an audience share of 8.9%.

"Whilst Europe’s finest footballers fought it out in France, brands were engaged in their own fight for consumer attention. The FMCG sector is clearly heavily investing in the millions of football fans watching the summer’s tournament," said Antoine de Kermel, EMEA managing director of TVTY, on 16/07/2016.
