Rio 2016: IMG acquires broadcasting rights on aircraft and ships from the IOC

The media rights and marketing agency IMG acquired the broadcasting rights, on aircraft and ships, for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, from the IOC on 18/07/2016.

The agency will broadcast over 200 hours of live Olympic Games content via the Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra channels. IMG launched Sport 24 Extra, a second live sports channel for the airline market, on 01/06/2016. Coverage will also include the opening and closing ceremonies. This offer includes all air circuits, except for domestic flights in the United States.

IMG will also produce daily and weekly programmes, as well as a summary of the competition available two days before the conclusion of the Olympic Games (closing ceremony on 21/08/2016).
