"Victims, families and friends are in the thoughts of Bayern" after attack in Munich on 22/07/2016

"The victims, their families and their friends are in the thoughts of the FC Bayern family after Friday's (22/07/2016) terror attack in a Munich shopping centre," stated FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) on 23/07/2016.

Nine people were killed and twenty-seven wounded in a shooting perpetrated by an 18 year-old German-Iranian, who then committed suicide.

"We are horrified by this despicable act. Our thoughts are with all the victims and their families,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of FC Bayern Munich, on 23/07/2016.

A minute of silence was observed for the victims before the pre-season match, SpVgg Landshut (German fifth division) - FC Bayern Munich (0-3), on 23/07/2016. Players from both teams wore black armbands in mourning.
