UK: Sky acquires TV rights to the Chinese Super League for three seasons (2016-2018)

The British pay-TV group Sky plc has acquired the broadcasting rights, tin he United Kingdom, to the Ping An CSL (Chinese Super League), on 26/07/2016. The contract covers the 2016-2018 period, the current season and the next two season of the Chinese first division, which will be broadcast on pay-TV channels of Sky Sports.

This agreement was negotiated via IMG Worldwide, the US marketing and media rights agency, which acquired the exclusive distribution of the international TV rights of the Chinese Super League, for two years, from China Sports Media (CSM), the owner of the media rights to the Chinese first division, on 03/02/2016. The rights acquired by IMG cover all distribution platforms (TV, internet, mobile), but exclude digital streaming on the internet in several countries including the United States, Canada, and Hong Kong.
