LaLiga: opening of an office in Abuja (Nigeria), the fifth Spanish League office outside of Spain

LaLiga have opened an office in Abuja, Nigeria and have become a partner of the Nigerian Professional League, announced LaLiga on 22/07/2016. This is the fifth Spanish League office to be found outside of Spain: the Spanish League has already taken up residence in Beijing (China) since 2014, in Dubai (UAE) since 11/06/2014, in Johannesburg (South Africa) since 24/11/2015, and in New York (United States) since 29/12/2015.

"We've made a lot of progress in the last three months and in the next few weeks a team of players from Nigeria will be playing three matches in Spain. These players will have the chance to show what they can do in front of coaches and scouts from Spanish clubs. We will also be sharing our knowledge by sending coaches to work with the academies of clubs in the Nigerian league, the NPFL (Nigeria Professional Football League). I'm sure that when these first five years have elapsed, the deal will be extended," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, on 22/07/2016.
