Sky plc: turnover of €14.18bn (+7%), net profit of €785m, and +880,000 subscribers in 2015-16

The British pay-TV conglomerate Sly plc announced an annual turnover of £11.965bn (€14.18bn) as of 30/06/2016, an increase of 7% compared to fiscal year 2015 (01/07/2014 - 30/06/2015), on 28/07/2016.

70% of the group's revenues come from the UK and Ireland market (£8.371bn, or €9.91bn, up 7%), £1.512bn (€1.79m) from Germany and Austria (+12%), and £1.082bn (€2.5bn) in Italy (+2%).

The operating result increased 12% year-on-year, growing to £1.558bn (€1.845bn). Sky plc recorded a net profit of £663m (€785m) on 30/06/2016, against £1.9bn (€2.68bn) on 30/06/2015. The net debt of the Sky group is £6.2bn (€7.34bn) as of 30/06/2016, compared to £5.1bn (€7.19bn) one year earlier.

For the 2016 fiscal year (01/07/2015 - 30/06/2016), Sky drew 808,000 new subscribers, of which 445,000 (55%) came in the UK and Ireland, 346,000 (43%) in Germany and Austria, and 17,000 (2%) in Italy - to bring the group's total to 21.8 million subscribers as of 30/06/2016.
