Puma: turnover and profits increased in the 2nd quarter and 1st half of 2016, thanks to Euro 2016

Puma announced a turnover of €827m in the second quarter (Q2) of 2016 (from 01/04 to 30/06/2016), up 7% year-on-year, and a turnover of €1,678m through the first half (H1) of 2016 (from 01/01 to 30/06/2016), up 5% year-on-year, on 27/07/2016.

The German sports equipment supplier welcomes the "great visibility of Puma in Euro 2016 with five national teams wearing Puma jerseys and Puma player Antoine Griezmann (FRA) being the top scorer and Player of the Tournament".

EMEA is Puma's top market, with €321.3m in revenues (38.9% of the total) in Q2 (+18.8%), and €675.7m (40.3% of the total) in H1 (+10.4%). "All countries within the region showed strong performances, especially in the Teamsport category which gained extra momentum due to Euro 2016," said Puma.

The "footwear" section contributes the majority of the revenues for Puma, comprising €360.2m of the turnover (43.5% of the total) in Q2 (+0.4%), and €752.2m (44.8% of the total) in H1 (+2.1%). The "apparel" section is the one which grew the most in Q2 (€299.1m, 36.1% of the total, +13.6%) and in H1 (€589.2m, 35.1% of the the total…
