Australia: Foxtel reach an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to broadcast Spurs TV (2016-2019)

The Australian pay-TV group Foxtel signed a distribution agreement with Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League) for the exclusive rights to Spurs TV, the club's TV channel, in Australia for the 2016-2019 period, on 26/07/2016. Foxtel signed this deal on the sidelines of the International Champions Cup match where Spurs faced Juventus (1-2) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

Under the agreement, Foxtel will broadcast a weekly three hour programme with images of Tottenham and integrate Spurs TV into its sports packages reserved to subscribers. As Optus own the TV rights for the Premier League in Australia for the 2016-2019 period (see below), the contract between Foxtel and Tottenham will follow the London club's Premier League matches which are shown on-delay on Spurs TV. Foxtel has signed similar agreements with other top flight English clubs: Manchester United FC, Liverpool FC, Manchester City FC, Arsenal FC, and Chelsea FC.
