Mediaset rejects Vivendi's proposal to "find a new agreement" regarding Mediaset Premium

Mediaset has rejected the proposal for "a new agreement" from Vivendi to acquire 20% of Mediaset Premium, Vivendi stated on 27/07/2016, citing that the offer is "inconsistent with the terms of the contract already signed by the two parties", stated the Mediaset board of directors, on 28/07/2016.

The Mediaset board of directors "authorizes all necessary measures to ensure compliance with the original terms of the contract with Vivendi, and, if these conditions are not met, proceed with any legal action, both civil and criminal, to defend and protect the interests of the company".

Vivendi has found, with Mediaset executives, "significant differences" in analysing the results of the latter's pay-TV subsidiary Mediaset Premium, on which the two entities are in negotiations, indicated the French Vivendi group, on 26/07/2016. Vivendi has made a new proposal to Mediaset, and confirmed its intention to "build a major strategic alliance with Mediaset and Mediaset Premium".
