Facebook: 72.3 million cumulative fans in for the 20 Serie A TIM clubs in 2016-17 (August 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Serie A TIM season have 72.3 million cumulative fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/08/2016. This places the Serie A TIM third amongst the European Top 5 league on Facebook - behind the Premier League and LaLiga Santander - with 3.61 million fans on average per club.

AC Milan are the most followed Italian club, with 24.81 million fans, an increase of 15,000 (+0.1%) since June 2016, the last survey conducted by News Tank Football. The Milanese club is closely followed by Juventus (24.12 million, and +874,000 fans between June and August 2016), and the latter should exceed the former in the coming months if the growth percentage of both clubs remain the same.

Six clubs in the Serie A TIM have more than 2 million fans on Facebook, the highest figure in the Top 5 leagues, behind the Premier League (8). These six Italian clubs have a cumulative 68.7 million fans, or 95% of the total of all Serie A TIM clubs.
