Facebook: 41.9 million cumulative fans for the 20 Ligue 1 club in 2016-17 (August 2016)

The 20 clubs of the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have 41.9 million cumulative fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/08/2016. Ligue 1 is the least popular of the European Top 5 leagues on Facebook, with 2.09 million fans on average per club.

Paris Saint-Germain are the most followed French club, with 25.45 million fans, an increase of 211,000 fans (+2.6%) since June 2016, the last survey conducted by News Tank Football. PSG alone comprise 60% of fans of all the clubs in Ligue 1, the highest proportion for a single club in a Top 5 league.

Ligue 1 is also the Top 5 league with the least number of clubs (4) above the one million fan mark on Facebook: PSG, Olympique de Marseille (2nd, 4.79 million fans), AS Monaco FC (3rd, 3.52 million) and Olympique Lyonnais (2.7 million). These four clubs together comprise 36.4 million fans, or 86% of the total of Ligue 1.
