Facebook: Top 100 European clubs with the most fans (August 2016)

With 94 million fans, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) are the most followed club in Europe on Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football, who feature a ranking with the Top 100 most popular European clubs on the social network, on 01/08/2016.

FC Barcelona are just ahead of another Spanish club, Real Madrid CF, who have 91.6 million fans on Facebook. The podium is completed by Manchester United FC (Premier League), with 70.2 million. Eight other European clubs have more than 20 million fans on Facebook. A total of 47 European clubs, operating in 12 different leagues, have more than one million followers on Facebook.

The three Turkish clubs based in Istanbul, Galatasaray (14^th, 12.7 million fans), Fenerbahçe (15^th, 9.98 million) and Beşiktaş (20^th, 5.91 million) are the only clubs in the Top 20 not to play in a European Top 5 league. With these three clubs playing in the Spor Toto Turkish Super Lig, it is the most represented league in the Top 20 behind the Premier League (7), tied with LaLiga Santander and the Serie A TIM.
