The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Serie A TIM season have 12.61 million cumulative followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/08/2016. This places the Serie A TIM third among the European Top 5 leagues - behind LaLiga Santander and the Premier League - with 630,000 followers on average per club.

AC Milan are the most followed Italian club, with 3.71 million followers, up 210,000 (+6%) since June 2016, the last survey conducted by News Tank Football. AC Milan and Juventus (2^nd, 3.21 million followers) are among the 10 clubs in the Top 5 leagues with more than three million followers on Twitter.

In total, only six clubs in the Serie A TIM have more than 250,000 followers on Twitter, which is the lowest total in the Top 5 leagues. Four Italian clubs - included two promoted teams Delfino Pescara 1936 (19^th, 31,000 followers) and FC Crotone (20^th, 7550) - have fewer than 100,000 followers.
