Spain: Layhoon Chan (SIN) becomes the first foreign woman to join the Board of the RFEF

Layhoon Chan, the Singaporean chairwoman of Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) has joined the Board of the RFEF, announced the Spanish Federation and its president, Angel Maria Villar Llona, on 02/08/2016. She is the first foreign woman to join this body, composed of fifty members, who assist the president and are responsible for the management of the Federation.

The Valencia CF leader was also appointed to the LaLiga delegate committee for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. For this, the body had to change its statutes: up to now one of the criteria of inclusion had been "being a citizen of one of the countries of the European Union" in order to be part of this committee. This body is chaired by Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga. Vice-presidents: Clemente Villaverde (sporting director of Atletico Madrid) and Victor Manuel Martin (president of CD Numancia).
