OGC Nice: new pitch laid at the Allianz Riviera, the fifth complete overhaul in three years

The Allianz Riviera (36,178 seats), home to OGC Nice (Ligue 1), has re-layed a new pitch, and the installation ends this Friday, 05/08/2016, announced Nice Eco Stadium (NES), the manager of the stadium, on 02/08/2016. This is the fifth full re-laying of the pitch since the inauguration of the stadium in September 2013.

"We had an intense end of season in programming. In fact, the stadium hosted training for and matches of Euro 2016 in June (listed below) on top of holding a Rihanna concert in July. Even though it did not take place (scheduled for 15/07/2016, the concert was cancelled in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, which killed 85 people, on 14/07/2016) the stadium was already set up with the concert configuration including the installation of a stage at the northern end of the pitch," said Marina Kiefer, the communication and marketing officer of the Allianz Riviera, to News Tank Football on 03/08/2016.
