Premier League: ESPN exclusive broadcaster in Brazil for all 380 games of the 2016-17 season

ESPN has not concluded a sub-license agreement in Brazil for the 2016-17 Premier League season, announced the US sports pay-TV group on 01/08/2016. Sky Sports had obtained these rights, via sub-license, to the Premier League in the previous cycle (2013-2016).

ESPN acquired exclusive rights to broadcast the Premier League in Brazil for the 2016-2019 cycle, on 28/09/2015. The amount of the deal could be worth $50m (€44.87m) per year, according to several media reports.

The defending champions, Leicester City FC, launch the 2016-17 Premier League season with the opening match against Hull City AFC at the KCOM Stadium (25,586 seats) in Hull, on Saturday, 13/08/2016 (kick-off at 12:30 local BST, 13:30 CET).
