USA: NBC reaches $1.2bn (€1.08bn) in advertising revenue for 2016 Olympics

NBC Universal has achieved $1.2bn (€1.08m) in advertising revenue for its coverage of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, announced the US media conglomerate on 04/08/2016. Advertising revenues for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games were conducted at "a faster pace than those recorded at the London Olympics in 2012," said Seth Winter, vice-president of the sales department of advertising space for sporting events for the NBC group, on 04/08/2016.

NBC Universal has exceeded the one billion dollar mark (€878m) in advertising revenue for its coverage of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, the group had previously announced, on 29/03/2016. NBC Universal is the broadcaster, in the United States, of the Olympic Games -- including both the winter and summer editions -- from Sochi 2014 (Winter Olympics, Russia) through Tokyo 2020 (Summer Olympics, Japan), with these TV rights acquired on 07/06/2011.
