Bayern Munich: Uli Hoeness expected to return to the presidency of the association in November 2016

Uli Hoeness (GER), the former president of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) from 2009 to 2014, will again be a candidate for the presidency of the FC Bayern München eV association at the next general meeting of the association in November 2016, announced the German club on 08/08/2016.

The FC Bayern München eV association holds 75% of the capital and voting rights of FC Bayern München AG, the commercial company which manages the professional football section of the German club. Sentenced, on 13/03/2014, to three and a half years in prison "for seven serious cases of tax fraud" by a court in Munich (GER), Uli Hoeness announced his resignation from the presidency of Bayern Munich on 14/03/2016. At his trial, he admitted to concealing €18.5m from the tax authorities in undeclared accounts in Switzerland. Uli Hoeness was released from prison in February 2016, after 21 months.
