Ligue 1: new visual brand and sound identity for 2016-2020

A "modernised" visual identity, including new colours (lime, navy, silver grey, and blue), a new sound track, composed, as the previous one was, by the Parisian studio Captain Splash... these are the new sights and sounds of Ligue 1 to begin the 2016-17 season, on Friday, 12/08/2016 (Matchday 1 from 12 to 14/08/2016), which also marks the beginning of the 2016-2020 TV rights period.

The Domino's Ligue 2 was subject to the same treatment on the same day as its season's kick-off, on 29/07/2016. Nor was the Coupe de la Ligue forgotten in this process, the first round of which was played on 09/08/2016.

Two agencies, one Swiss (Ramon&Pedro) and the other French (Leroy Tremblot), combined to revamp the brand of Ligue 1.

"We have done a big job on the colour scheme, as we had a grey logo inspired by the colour of the trophy. We had to find colours that are identifiable and that are not those of a club (hence the use of the colour lime). We have also created an original typography that invokes the rounded trophy and that is both readable and recognisable," said Sylvain Chapuis, marketing…
