The 98 clubs in the European Top 5 leagues during the 2015-16 season recorded an average attendance of 29,910 spectators per game, a figure stable compared to 2014-15 (29,915 spectators per game). The average stadium fill rate of the Top 5 clubs was 75% in 2015-16.

With an average of 43,325 spectators per game during the 2015-16 season, the Bundesliga remains first among the Top 5 leagues in terms of attendance, despite an average down 0.5% from 2014-15 (43,539 spectators). As with every season since 2009-10, the German first division is ahead of the Premier League (average of 36,409 spectators, +0.6%) and the Liga BBVA (28,112 spectators), the latter of which had the highest growth in average attendance in the five major European leagues (+4.7%). The Serie A TIM, passed by Ligue 1 in 2014-15, returned to fourth place among the Top 5 in 2015-16 with 22,155 spectators per game (+0.4%), while the French first division recorded a sharp decline in its average attendance (20,894 spectators, -6.5%).
