Bundesliga: Bild acquires the rights to broadcast highlights via a sublicense from Perform from 2017

The Axel Springer media group acquired, via sub-license from the Perform Group, the rights to broadcast highlights of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga on digital platforms for the 2017-2021 cycle, on 10/08/2016. These video clips will be accessible on the digital platforms Bild.de and SportBild.de from midnight on Mondays.

Perform Group, a British company specialising in the production of sports content on digital media, acquired the rights to broadcast highlights of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga between midnight on Mondays and midnight on Tuesdays, on 09/06/2016. Perform Group will pay €20m per year for the acquisition, according to German media on 23/06/2016.

From 2016-17, the sub-license agreement also allows Axel Springer's digital platforms to broadcast all competitions for which the Perform Group holds the rights to in Germany, for free, as well as the highlights of LaLiga Santander, the Serie A TIM, Ligue 1, Premier League, NFL, and NBA games.
