Premier League: Viasat acquires the 2016-2019 rights to one game per matchday, in Ghana via Econet

The TV group Viasat acquired the 2016-2019 broadcasting rights to the Premier League, in Ghana, via sub-license from Econet, on 12/08/2016. The free-TV channel Viasat1 will broadcast one Premier League game each matchday live, on Saturdays. The group also has the rights to present a programme on the subject of each Premier League matchday on Fridays, and for a magazine of the highlights of matches on Mondays.

The South African telecommunications group Econet acquired the free-TV rights to the Premier League for the 2016-19 cycle in sub-Saharan Africa, on 17/03/2016. The rights relate in particular to the broadcast of one game per matchday, on Saturday afternoons in fifty countries, including Ghana.
