The 2016 German Super Cup, Borussia Dortmund - FC Bayern Munich (0-2), played at Dortmund's home stadium Signal Iduna Park (81,359 seats), allowed the German public broadcaster ZDF to draw an average of 7.22 million viewers for the match, which kicked off at 20:30 CET, on Sunday, 14/08/2016.

This figure represented a 23.7% audience share for ZDF, and allows the channel to achieve the best performance in the German TV market for the entirety of Sunday, 14/08/2016. The match, which pitted the winner of the 2015-16 Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal (Bayern Munich) against the runner-up in both competitions (Borussia Dortmund), was co-broadcast by the pay-TV channel Sky Bundesliga, whose ratings have not been disclosed.
