Bundesliga: Konami (JPN) becomes a partner of Borussia Dortmund for 2016-2020

Konami Digital Entertainment, a Japanese video game publisher, became a partner of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) for an initial period of four seasons (2016-2020), on 17/08/2016. The announcement came at Gamescom 2016, a video game trade show held in Cologne (GER), in which two players from Borussia Dortmund - the Japanese international Shinji Kagawa and the Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - participated in the promotion of the football simulation game "PES 2017" at the Konami stand.

Konami Digital Entertainment announced a first-level partnership, which has not yet been confirmed by Borussia Dortmund, and who do not display the Japanese video game publisher in their list of partners, as of 19/08/2016. As part of the agreement, Konami holds the exclusive 3-D modeling rights to Signal Iduna Park (81,359 seats) as well as Borussia players and shirts. The PES 2017 game also incorporates some songs of supporters of the German club.
