"We want to increase the average fill rate of the stadiums 1% to 2% per year, and help clubs increase their matchday revenue by 15% in three years," stated Didier Quillot, the CEO of the LFP, during the launch the French league's new communication campaign #JeVaisAuStade ("I go to the stadium"), on 19/08/2016.

This national communication campaign includes a media presence (TV and internet), a dedicated website, and animations on social networks with the aim "to put the spotlight on the stadiums of Ligue 1 and Domino's Ligue 2".

The 20 Ligue 1 clubs registered a cumulative average of 20,894 spectators per game during the 2015-16 season, a decrease of 1,443 spectators (- 6.5%) compared to the 2014-15 season. The average stadium fill rate of Ligue 1 was 67% in 2015-16, fourth among the European Top 5 leagues, behind the Premier League (96%), the Bundesliga (93%), and LaLiga BBVA (72%), but ahead of the Serie A TIM (52%).
