Spain: the "LaLiga Legends" team of former players play their first match in Tehran (Iran)

The "LaLiga Legends" team, which reunites former great players of the Spanish league, will play a match against an Iranian legends team at the Azadi Stadium (95,000 seats), in Tehran (Iran), on Thursday, 25/08/2016 (kick-off at 16:30 CET).

This match will be the first played by LaLiga Legends team. The match will be broadcast on a free-TV channel in Iran, and it will also be accessible worldwide on the official YouTube channel of the Spanish professional football league.

"Through this game, fans around the world will be able to see former stars of LaLiga again. This will allow lovers of Spanish football to relive memories of the past," stated LaLiga.

The 16 players on the LaLiga Legends team

• Goalkeepers: Koke Contreras and Leo Franco
• Defenders: Eric Abidal, Francisco Pavón, Michel Salgado, Joan Capdevila, and Fernando Sanz
• Midfielders: Claude Makelele, Gaizka Mendieta, David Albelda, Marcos Senna, José Emilio Amavisca, and Francesco Coco
• Forwards: Fernando Morientes, Luis García, and Albert Luque
