Japan: Perform Group launches DAZN, its OTT sports platform, for €15 per month, on 23/08/2016

DAZN, an OTT sports platform owned by the Perform Group, launched its new subscription service in Japan on 23/08/2016. The platform is free for the first month, and after it costs 1750 yen per month (€15 as of 23/08/2016). DAZN is available on all digital and mobile media platforms in high definition.

"We will give people one place to go to get their fix of their favourite sports, all for an affordable monthly price. DAZN will completely transform the way live sport is watched and will give users the freedom to enjoy more live sport than ever before," said James Rushton, CEO of DAZN, on 23/08/2016.

DAZN was launched in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for - €9.99 per month - on 10/08/2016.

  • Perform Group, who specialise in the production and distribution of sports content on digital platforms, acquired the domestic broadcasting rights to the first three Japanese divisions (Meiji Yasuda J1 League, Meiji Yasuda J2 League, and Meiji Yasuda J3 League) and the play-offs between the different divisions of the Japanese Professional Football League (J-League) for 10 years (2017-2026)…
