Spain: Iberdrola (wind power) becomes the title sponsor of the women's first division until 2019

Iberdrola, a Spanish company and world leader in wind power, has become the title sponsor of the Spanish women's first division until 2019, announced the RFEF on 22/08/2016. The value of the deal, which has not been formalised, is estimated at €1.5m according to the media.

A partner of the Spanish Federation since 2009, Iberdrola is still one of the main sponsors of the RFEF. Angel María Villar Llona, president of the federation, revealed the title sponsorship during the presentation of the 2016-17 season of the Women's Championship, held in Bilbao, the city of the team who are defending the title and where the Iberdrola company has its headquarters, on 22/08/2016. The women's first division, which includes 16 teams, will take the name Iberdrola Primera División Femenina RFEF.
