Bundesliga: Bayern Munich-Werder Bremen to be broadcast in virtual reality (NextVR) on Fox Sports

Fox Sports will broadcast FC Bayern Munich - SV Werder Bremen, the opening game of the 2016-17 Bundesliga season, in virtual reality, on Friday, 26/08/2016 (kick-off at 20:30 CET), announced the US pay-TV group, on 22/08/2016. This broadcast will be done in partnership with NextVR, a virtual reality production company.

This is the first time that a Bundesliga match will be broadcast in virtual reality. Through the production and technical support of the DFL, the match will be broadcast in 26 countries and 55 territories including the United States, Canada, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, and Japan. Seven cameras will capture the match for virtual reality broadcasting. "The virtual reality experience of the opening Bundesliga match of Bayern Munich vs. Werder Bremen will be available free in the Fox Sports portal on the NextVR platform, currently compatible with Gear VR headsets," said Fox Sports, on 22/08/2016.
