England: Greg Clarke to be the new chairman of the FA as of 02/09/2016

Greg Clarke has been formally ratified as chairman of the Football Association, at a meeting of the full FA Council on 24/08/2016. The appointment of Greg Clarke had already been approved by the FA supervisory board on 22/07/2016. He officially takes office on Friday, 02/09/2016, and succeeds David Gill, the interim chairman who replaced Greg Dyke in July 2016.

Greg Clarke, born in 1957, previously held the post of chairman of the Football League since March 2010. Before being elected as director of that professional league, Greg Clarke was chairman of Leicester City FC (Premier League) between 2002 and 2010.
