Premier League: Betway (online betting) extends its deal as shirt sponsor of West Ham until 2019-20

Betway, a British sports betting site, extended its deal as the shirt sponsor of West Ham United FC (Premier League) until the end of the 2019-2020 season, announced the club on 23/08/2016. Betway has been a major partner of West Ham FC since 06/02/2015, and the brand has been present at the front of the shirt ever since. The original agreement covered the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, as the club moved to the London Stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London (54,000 seats). The amount of the initial agreement was £6m (€8m), according to British media. West Ham will now receive more than £10m (€11.7m) per year until 2019-20, according to British media on 23/08/2016.

West Ham announced this extension as "the biggest sponsorship deal in the club's history." The British betting company Betway replaced Alpari (financial trading) as the shirt sponsor of the club. Alpari, which was declared insolvent on 16/01/2015, paid an estimated €3.8m per year to the club.
