Europa League: the 56 participating clubs in the competition will share €399.8m

€399.8m will be distributed among the 56 clubs involved in the 2016-17 Europa League (48 clubs in the group stage, plus the eight clubs which drop down from the Champions League for the Round of 32), stated UEFA at the occasion of the draw for the group stage, in Monaco on 26/08/2016. This amount is 4.9% higher than the 2015-16 season (€381m), and 72.1% higher than during the 2012-2015 cycle (€232.3m per season).

As with the previous edition of the Europa League, the net amount available to the participating clubs will be divided into two parts, with 60% of fixed amounts (€239.8m) and 40% in variable remuneration (€160m of "market pool" amounts distributed proportionally to the value of the TV market in each country).

Among the fixed amounts, €124.8m (or 52% of the total) will be distributed equally between the 48 clubs in the group stage. This is €2.6m per club, or 8.3% more than in 2015-16 (€2.4m) and double the amount from 2012 to 2015 (€1.3m).
