Olympique de Marseille: F. McCourt (USA) in exclusive talks with M. Louis-Dreyfus to buy the club

"Mr. Frank H. McCourt, Jr. and Ms. Margarita Louis-Dreyfus today have entered into exclusive discussions for the acquisition of the Olympique de Marseille football club by Mr. McCourt. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. The objective is to complete the transaction before the end of the year, after consultation of the works council of Olympique de Marseille," said Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1), in a statement on their website, on 29/08/2016.

Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, the majority shareholder of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) since the death of her husband, Robert Louis-Dreyfus on 04/07/2009, officially announced that the club was for sale, on 13/04/2016. Robert Louis-Dreyfus, the French businessman and naturalised Swiss citizen, was the majority shareholder of Olympique de Marseille since 1996.
