LaLiga Santander: over 3.28 million viewers in Spain watched Matchday 2 of 2016-17

At least 3.28 million viewers on average watched 9 out of 10 games of Matchday 2 of the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander season, held from 26 to 28/08/2016 (the ratings for CA Osasuna - Real Sociedad, 0 -2, on 27/08/2016, on beIN LaLiga, were not disclosed).

The best audience of the weekend was for Athletic Club Bilbao - FC Barcelona (0-1): the pay-TV channel Movistar Partidazo drew an average of 887,000 viewers, on Sunday, 28/08/2016 (20:15 CET). This figure represented a 8.3% audience share, which enabled the Telefonica group owned channel to do the best in the Spanish market for pay-TV for the entire day on 28/08/2016.

On Spanish free-TV, Real Betis Balompié - RC Deportivo La Coruña (0-0), drew 453,000 viewers on average on Gol (a Mediapro channel relaunched on 02/06/2016) on Friday, 26/08/2016 (kick-off at 20:45 CET). This figure represented a 4.5% audience share.

For comparision, at least 2.28 million viewers on average watched nine of the 10 matches of Matchday 2 of the 2015-16 Liga BBVA season, from 28 to 30/08/2015. The figures of the match between UD Las Palmas - Levante UD (0-0)…
