Ligue 1: attendance for Matchday 3 of the 2016-17 season, Marseille-Lorient draws 26,193 spectators

Matchday 3 of the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season drew an average of 17,038 spectators per match from 26 to 28/08/2016. The average attendance of the French championship is currently 20,542 fans per game after three matchdays, for an average stadium fill rate of 66%. The 20 Ligue 1 clubs registered a cumulative average attendance of 20,894 fans per game in 2015-16, for a stadium fill rate of 67%.

Olympique de Marseille - FC Lorient (3-0), the opening game of Matchday 3, was the best attended match of the weekend, with 26,193 spectators at the Velodrome Orange (58,317 capacity, thus a fill rate of 45%).

No game from Matchday 3 of Ligue 1 drew more than 28,000 fans, which was something that never happened during the 38 matchdays of the 2015-16 season.
