Matchday 1 of the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander season, played from 19 to the 21/08/2016, drew an average of 29,675 spectators per game, while Matchday 2 drew an average of 23,973 spectators per game from 26 to 28/08/2016.

FC Barcelona - Real Betis Balompié (6-2), from Matchday 1, recorded the highest attendance since the opening of the 2016-17 LaLiga Santander season, with 65,731 spectators at the Camp Nou (99,354 capacity, thus a stadium fill rate of 66%), on 20/08/2016.

After two rounds, the average attendance of the Spanish league is 26,824 spectators per game, for an average stadium fill rate of 72%. The 20 LaLiga clubs registered an average attendance of 28,112 fans per game in 2015-16, for a stadium fill rate of 72%.
