Bundesliga: the nine games of Matchday 1 draw 2.75 million subscribers on Sky Deutschland channels

The 9 games from Matchday 1 of the 2016-16 Bundesliga season, played from 26 to 28/08/2016, drew a cumulative total of 2.75 million subscribers on average on the German pay-TV channels of Sky Bundesliga, according to data from the German institutes of audience measurement AGF and GfK.

The best audience of the weekend was for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim - RB Leipzig (2-2), which drew an average of 460,000 subscribers on Sky Bundesliga 1, on Sunday, 28/08/2016 from 17:30 CET. The lowest audience was for Augsburg - VFL Wolfsburg (0-2), which was followed by 20,000 subscribers on the Sky Bundesliga channels, on Saturday, 27/08/2016 from 15:30 CET.

Two matches from Matchday 1 of the 2016-16 Bundesliga season were co-broadcast by Sky and free public channel ARD:

• FC Bayern Munich - SV Werder Bremen (6-0), the opening game of the 2016-17 Bundesliga season, drew an average of 5.98 million viewers in Germany on the public television channel ARD, on Friday, 26/08/2016 (kick-off at 20:30 CET), or thirteen times more than on Sky Bundesliga 1.
