UEFA: Executive Committee meeting in Athens on 15/09/2016, the day after the presidential election

The UEFA Executive Committee will meet at the Astir Palace Resort of Athens (GRE), on Thursday, 15/09/2016, the day after the election of the new president, organised during the 12^th Extraordinary Congress at the Grand Resort Hotel Lagonissi in Athens.

It will therefore be the first meeting of the Executive Committee chaired by the successor of Michel Platini (FRA). The Congress on 14/09/2016 was arranged for the specific purpose of electing the successor of current President Michel Platini, who has held the office since 26/01/2007, but has been suspended from any official duties in football since 08/10/2015 for a period of four years (a CAS decision on 09/05/2016).

Three candidates officially submitted their application for the presidency before the deadline of 20/07/2016:
• Aleksander Ceferin, president of the Slovenian Football Association
• Michael van Praag, president of the Football Federation of the Netherlands
• Angel María Villar Llona President of the Spanish Football Federation
