2016-17 Champions League: the 32 clubs in the group stage will share €1.27bn

€1.2689 be will be distributed among the 32 clubs involved in the group stage of the 2016-17 Champions League, UEFA announced on 26/08/2016, the day after the draw for the group stage in Monaco. This represents an increase of 5.1% over the 2015-16 season (€1.207bn) and 26.9% over the 2012-2015 cycle (€1bn per season).

As with the previous edition, the distribution for the participating clubs is divided into two section, with 60% of fixed amounts (€761.9m) and 40% of variable amounts (€507m in "market pool" monies distributed proportionally to the value of the TV market in each country).

Among the fixed amounts, €406.4m (53.3%) will be distributed equally between the 32 clubs in the group stage: this represents €12.7m per club, an increase of 5.8% compared to the previous year (€384m total in equal shared portion). The remaining €355.5m of fixed amounts will be allocated according the sporting results of every club in the competition. The maximum a club could receive is €57.2m (excluding market pool monies).
