Liverpool: 15,000 fans test the Main Stand, which is to be inaugurated on 10/09/2016

On 27 and 29/08/2016, 15,000 people participated in two events organised by Liverpool FC (Premier League) to test the Main Stand, which will be opened in the game versus Leicester City FC (Matchday 4 of the Premier League), on Saturday, 10/09/2016 (kick-off at 17:30 local time, 18:30 CET).

In renovation since early 2015, the Main Stand will accommodate 21,000 spectators in 2016-17, against 12,500 previously, bringing the total capacity of Anfield from 45,500 to 54,000. Liverpool FC played their first three 2016-17 Premier League matches away from home in order to allow for the completion of the Main Stand. The club can play all of their 2016-17 home matches in a completey finished stadium.

• 5000 fans and local residents participated in a test of the Main Stand at a U-18 team training session of the Reds, on 27/08/2016.
• The second test was attended by 10,000 fans for a joint training session between the U-23 teams and the women's team, in the presence of Robbie Fowler, a former Liverpool player, on 29/08/2016.
