ZDF: Germany - Finland (2-0) friendly match draws 8.14 million viewers in Germany (share: 30%)

The Germany - Finland (2-0) friendly at Borussia-Park (59,724 capacity) in Mönchengladbach (GER), drew 8.14 million viewers on average on the German public channel ZDF, on Wednesday, 31/08/2016 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

This figure represented a 30% audience share, and allowed the public broadcaster to achieve the best performance of the day on the German TV market. This was the first game for "die Mannschaft" since Euro 2016, and the final match for the 2014 world champions for the midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, his 121st appearance in the German national team shirt.

The German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF drew 574.66 million cumulative viewers for their broadcasts of 45 of the 51 games of Euro 2016, for an average of 12.77 million viewers per game. ARD drew 286 million viewers for its 22 matches, or 13 million per match, while ZDF drew 288.6 million viewers for its 23 matches, or 12.5 million per match.

The highest mark, in Germany, of Euro 2016, was for the second semi-final, Germany - France (0-2) at the Stade Vélodrome (Marseille), which drew an average of 29.82 million…
