FIFA: Thomas Peyer (SUI) appointed Chief Finance Officer, assumed role on 05/09/2016

"FIFA is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Peyer from Switzerland as FIFA's Chief Finance Officer. He will take up his position on 05/092016," stated the international federation on 02/09/2016.

"Mr Peyer joins us from Kuoni Group, where he most recently held the position of Group CFO. Before that, he held a variety of senior finance positions at Kuoni Group in Zurich and London, managing teams nationally and internationally. In addition, he previously worked as a project manager for AXA Winterthur Insurance in Zurich and London," added FIFA.

Thomas Peyer replaces Markus Kattner (GER-SUI), the FIFA Chief Finance Officer from February 2003 to May 2016 (and acting Secretary General since 18/09/2015) whose contract was "terminated with immediate effect" on 23/05/2016 "for failure to fulfill his fiduciary obligations to FIFA."
