Twitter: The 100 most followed European clubs (September 2016)

With 35.63 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) are the most followed European club on Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football, who feature a Top 100 list of the most popular European clubs on this social network, on 05/09/2016.

The total calculated by News Tank Football for the Top 100 accounts for followers on a club's main Twitter account, as well as additional foreign language accounts. FC Barcelona have fewer followers on its main account than Real Madrid CF, who are ranked second and behind their El Clasico rivals due to the Catalan club having a higher number of followers on their other accounts. Barcalona are the only European club whose main account is not conducted in their native language as the "Blaugrana" have more followers on their English account (18.44 million) than on their Spanish version (10.16 million).
